Statement 1: Chholiya is a dance form practised in the Kumaun region of
Uttarakhand.
It is basically a sword dance accompanying a marriage procession but now it is performed on
many auspicious occasions.
This sword dance has a history of more than a thousand years and is rooted in the martial
traditions of the Kumauni people.
Statement 2: Huyen langlon is an Indian martial art from Manipur.
In the Meitei language, huyen means war while langlon or langlong can mean net, knowledge
or art.
Huyen langlon consists of two main components: thang-ta (armed combat) and sarit sarak
(unarmed fighting).
The primary weapons of huyen langlon are the thang (sword) and ta (spear).
