--Special officer for Linguistic Minorities= Commissioner for Linguistic minorities.
--Headquarter= Allahabad
--Regional Office=Karnataka+ Tamil Nadu + W. Bengal
--at Centre Commissioner falls under “Ministry of Minority Affairs”.
--Submits annual report + other reports to President through Ministry of Minority Affairs.
--President places the report in Parliament and then to states concerned.

Role of Officer:

--takes up all matters arising out of Non implementation of “constitutional provisions/Schemes”
--Preserves Linguistic Diversity
--Administer +implement safeguards
--Publicity of available safeguards =seminars+conference+meetings+questionnaire+visit etc.
--Submits report to President = showing status of implementation of safeguards.
